My stay at the hotel was quite underwhelming. While the rooms had potential with their four-poster beds, they were overall quite tired and needed maintenance. The service was lackluster, especially during our dining experiences, and there were several issues that made my visit disappointing. The hotel might have a great location, but I can't say much else in its favor.

Rooms

The room had a lovely four-poster bed, but the overall condition was a bit tired and needed repairs.

Service at the hotel was inconsistent. At times it was friendly, but overall I felt that there was a lack of urgency to resolve issues.
Location

The hotel is situated in a decent location with some nearby attractions, but it definitely needs some refurbishment.
Dining

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The grounds are beautiful and the spa facilities are a definite highlight, but the room was in need of some updates and the dining experience left a lot to be desired. The staff were friendly throughout my stay, but there were several issues that made it less enjoyable overall.

Rooms
6.0
The room was spacious but tired. It could use some cosmetic repairs, like fresh grout and fixing the cracked wall.
Service
7.0
The staff were friendly and attentive, but service in the restaurant could have been smoother.
Location
8.0
The hotel is situated in a quiet area with lovely grounds, making for a pleasant atmosphere.
Dining
5.0
Dining was hit or miss. Breakfast had missing items and dinner was unfortunately disappointing; my meal was cold and bland.
Facilities

The spa facilities were nice, with a good range available, but I was surprised at the extra charge for pool access.

My experience at the hotel was quite frustrating. While the staff tried their best to address our concerns, the overall state of cleanliness and maintenance was disappointing. The dining options were inconsistent and not up to par, and the spa facilities were underwhelming. The location had potential, but it didn't make up for the issues we encountered during our stay.

Rooms
5.0
The room we stayed in had some issues, such as a broken lock and malfunctioning bathroom fixtures. It wasn't the comfortable and cozy space I had hoped for.
Service
6.0
The staff was polite and did try to assist when we reached out for help, but there were significant gaps in service efficiency.
Location
6.0
The location itself is decent, but it didn't stand out as particularly impressive due to the overall condition of the hotel.
Dining
5.0
Dining was disappointing, with inconsistent breakfast service and poorly prepared food during afternoon tea. It certainly did not feel luxurious as it should have.
Facilities
5.0
The spa facilities left much to be desired. The changing rooms were poorly maintained, and the overall presence of a spa was lacking.

7.8/10

We had a lovely stay overall, especially considering the value for money at just £100 for a midweek break. The room was ample and warm, but definitely in need of some modern upgrades. The dinner was fantastic, and our granddaughter adored the pool. However, some areas could use a refresh, particularly the changing rooms and general furnishings.

Rooms
6.0
The room was ample and warm, featuring a large double bed and bunk beds for our granddaughter, although the decor felt worn and dated.
Service
9.0
The staff were very pleasant and courteous throughout our stay, from the reception to the restaurant service.

The spa facilities included a good temperature swimming pool which our granddaughter loved, though the changing rooms needed a bit of attention.

The hotel has a lovely atmosphere and a beautiful restaurant, but our check-in experience was quite unpleasant. While our room was spacious and came with a complimentary bottle of prosecco, the service at the front desk overshadowed the positives. The food and drink experience also lacked timely service, leaving us disappointed during our stay.

Rooms
7.0
The room was spacious and featured a comfortable four-poster bed, though it felt a bit too hard for my liking.
Service
5.0
The front desk service was an unfortunate downside, bordering on confrontational, which made us feel unwelcome.
Location
Dining

Dining was nice, with a beautiful setting but limited choices and delayed drink service; more communication would help.
